The School: Our Mission

Education.

The mission of the school is to provide nationally accredited online and resident upper and lower level degrees in renewable food resources, sustainability, green industries, and certification programs in beginner and advanced programs in Aquaponics to students in the United States and the global community. It is the schools goal to work with U.S. and global organizations to train and certify individuals in subjects which will drastically reduce and solve world hunger, promote sustainable development, and combat the climate crisis.

Research.

The Aquaponics Institute of Technology will become a leading researcher in developing improved plant and fish production, increased products for use in aquaponic and renewable food resource systems, development of state-of-the-art aquaponics systems, using algae as an alternative power source, and other scientific research beneficial to the mission of the school. The school will be competitive in applying for grants from the US Department of Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency, and other agencies and organizations.

Charity.

As an educational facility with the mission to end hunger, it is only fitting that the school literally does its part to feed the hungry. During resident courses of instruction, various edible USDA certified organic plants and fish will be produced. The Aquaponics Institute of Technology pledges to donate a minimum of 25 percent of the school’s harvested food products to local homeless shelters or food banks and the remaining will be sold at local farmer’s markets to help support the school. Other charitable programs will likely be developed in the future.
